Nala

I lost my Nala yesterday.  She was with me for 17 years.  Nala was the sweetest little dog I have ever met.  She liked to visit the neighbors when she was just a little bit younger.  Over the last year or two she lost most of her vision and hearing.  As you can see in the pictures, she wore diapers the last year of her life.  She adapted well to all of this, but the last few days she became pretty week and had trouble standing and eating was becoming a challenge to her.  The vet said it was time and she died in my arms.  RIP sweet Nala.

It is so sad when we lose a pet as they are such a part of the family. May she be free now. Sending hugs your way.

So sad when we have to say goodbye. My little dog was 19 on Monday and like Nala is blind and deaf, so far she is still eating and managing quite well but I dread the day....I know it is just around the corner. Sending Hugs Linda xx

My heart is tender for you that you've lost your sweet "puppy". These loving animals enrich our lives beyond comparison. I LOVE my sweet bullmastiff. The other day I was crying a few tears. She went into another room and came back with one of her toys and put it in my lap. She looked into my eyes with hers and I could almost hear her say, "its ok...I love you"

May your memories comfort you...

OMG! I am so sorry about your dog. My dog Otto, is 17, blind and can barely hear if I yell really loud. We can't move any furniture around because he'll get lost. He's very fussy about what he eats. He likes what we eat and that's what he gets. I'm thinking for Christmas to get his eyes fixed. It's over $2,000 and they don't know if he'll make it through the surgery, but some times in the middle of the night he'll let out some screams until I find him. He's scared and lost in the house. It's a terrifying sound. He's fallen off of our bed, which is high up, quite a few times, and has become trapped in different places around our property. It's so sad. I am so sorry for your loss. He looks so much like your dog. Same coloring exactly and same size. They don't know if he would make it through the surgery because of his age, but I think he is very healthy and I want to give him a chance at life. This would be our Christmas presents this year...his sight! It's been about 5 years since he could see that I don't know how he would react to vision again. It might terrify him. What do you think? Should we do it?
